Following this course attendees will be able to:
This webinar will walk students through the basics of implementing Clean Practice. Clean uses Lean techniques but instead of addressing inefficiencies, it identifies and reduces or eliminates COVID-19 transmission vectors. Successful implementations result in significant improvements to team member safety and morale.
We will review the fundamental concepts and tools used in Clean Practice, including plan creation, Visual Factory, Gemba Walks, Engineered Solutions, and Kaizen. Instructors will explain how you can quickly implement these tools for immediate impact.
We will review the process of creating organizational COVID-19 response plans. Instructors will demonstrate how to adapt the provided [Template] COVID-19 response plan to your organization. Your instructors will explain how one company communicated its plan and moved into same-day implementation.
The Clean Gemba Walk is a cornerstone practice. Instructors will teach you how to recruit Zone Captains and then complete your first Gemba Walk to identify and visibly mark physical points where COVID-19 is likely to be transmitted. We will then transition to Engineered Solutions which physically removes transmission vectors.
Clean Practice complements aggressive Social Distancing and isn’t a substitute. We endorse an immediate, nationwide, month-long shutdown. We can use the time away to develop our Clean Practices and return to much safer workspaces.
Clean Practice is based on our own own research and understanding of Lean manufacturing principles coupled with information put out by the CDC and WHO on COVID-19. It is not endorsed by the government and is meant to serve only as a guide during this rapidly-evolving crisis. Clean Practice does not guarantee eliminating disease transmission vectors.
