As the state works toward recovery and counties begin the reopening process, demand for PPE continues to grow. We’ve received questions from many businesses about where they can find domestically sourced PPE. Additionally, we have many Oregon manufacturers who are making PPE.

Here are a few actions you can take:

Post Your PPE Products Available and PPE Products Needed on Oregon Supply Connector

The Supply Connector resource is Business Oregon’s collaborative project to connect businesses and communities with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) manufacturers and suppliers to fight the spread of COVID-19 and keep employees safe. It provides a searchable database of businesses that are providing PPE. The system also serves to connect businesses up and down the supply chain from raw materials, manufacturing needs, packaging, distribution, etc.

Post PPE Products Available and PPE Products Needed on the National Supply Connector

The Supply Connector resource is managed by many organizations, including Oregon Outdoor Alliance and North Carolina Outdoor Alliance. This collaborative project was created by volunteers who donate their time to connect businesses and communities with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) manufacturers. It is a nationwide database, and everyone who posts must create an account.

Post and Find PPE at Project N95

Project N95 is the National Clearinghouse for critical personal protective equipment (PPE) and medical supplies. They protect healthcare and frontline workers by matching procurement teams with vetted suppliers. Frontline and healthcare organizations report their critical equipment needs and suppliers submit information about the products they have available. Then, the N95 team conducts sourcing due diligence on all suppliers and products to accelerate provider organizations to make informed procurement decisions, quickly.

Fraud Warning

Over the past few weeks, OMEP has seen an increased number of fraudulent requests for PPE purchases. We wanted to remind manufacturers not to provide bank information of any kind to any unverified entity. Many fraudsters claim to represent large hospital groups, say they will post a large PO, and request an escrow or joint account to be set up.

Our recommendations

– Be cautious about accepting orders

– Do not share financial information or set up a shared account with any party

– Be aware of large orders

– In general, if it seems too good to be true it probably is
